On obi-strip reads:
Guitar wizard and extraorinaire inventor Lester William Polsfuss – better known as Les Paul – will forever be linked to the story of the solid body electric guitar. So many guitarists owe his favourite axe, the one that bears his name, to his inventions in the 1940s and his work with guitar manufacturer Gibson in the 1950s.

But that is not Les Paul’s only invention. He also pioneered sound recording techniques, experi-menting with multi track recordings by using several tape recorders. The first to benefit from his experiments was Les himself. An accomplished musician, he recorded many hit records starting as early as 1945.

Some of his most interesting and remembered works were done in collaboration with his wife, Mary Ford – born Iris Colleen Summers. A great singer and also a guitar player herself, she worked with Les Paul in the 1950s and 1960s, recording some amazing tunes like the ones contained in this, their debut album from 1955 which includes tracks as great as “How High The Moon”, “Vaya con Dios”, “Tiger Rag” or “The World Is Waiting For The Sunshine”.
